 Mermaid Barbie with Tattoos Mar 05, 2010

My young daughter loves this mermaid barbie and plays with it every night during bathtime. The barbie's hair and tattoos change with temperature and her 'tail' can convert to a hooded jacket/outfit. We have fortunately not encountered any defects. We are in the process of trying to get all the mermaids for bathtime.

Neat Barbie! Jun 18, 2010
I got this toy after receiving some money for my birthday. I loved this toy, and I figured out how to solve her certain 'defects', which I'll go into more detail about presently. But I would highly recommend this particular Barbie. BTW, her dolphin's name is Zuma (pronounced ZOO-muh). Anyway, one of the defects was that her hair wouldn't fit into the hoodie. I solved this by simply making her hair into a little loop at the bottom and pushing it in. Another defect was that her hair, tattoos, and toenails wouldn't change color. However, I accidentally left her out wet overnight. Overnight, the water cooled, and when I went into the bathroom, TA-DA! Her hair was pink and her tattoos were purple. Apparently, it had to be COLD water.:) Oops! Her toenails had dried overnight, so they stayed the same color, but I presume they're functional too. Lastly, the hoodie didn't fasten because of a little yellow piece of cloth over one of the Velcros, so I took that off. Those are the only defects I've encountered so far, and she (Merliah) ROCKS! Seeya! '_' :)

This Barbie is beautiful! I haven't had any issues at all with her. My daughter has been playing with her non stop since yesterday. The hair is sleek and beautifully soft. Her tail is cool and it's even cooler that it turns into an outfit easily. This Barbie is a must have for any Barbie loving child.

This dolls tail is really nice because it can turn in to a surfer outfit. It has held up very well. It also comes with zuma the dolphin, flipflops, and sunglasses. her toenails are painted and her tatoos are pretty. Her hair is thick and does not get knotted and has pretty pink streaks. She has a sparkly pink tiara that my daughter really loved. But be careful with the sunglasses because they are very easy to loose.

the doll feels like good quality and one of the things I like best about it is that she has flat feet - and wears flip flops. As such, it feels truly like a beach doll and not another Barbie with pointed toes.
The 'tail'flips up over her head and does some strange positioning to make it into a 'hoodie'. We never got the hang of it and it never looked right. All that hair was just too bulky and looked wrong when we tried for the beach look. But then again, it's really a doll that is much more fun in the water as a mermaid than as a beachcomber.
The color changing is interesting and she seems to be holding up well in the bathtub. Her crown long since fell off and I'll have to sew it into her scalp to keep it there as my daughter wants.
The other really unique feel about this Barbie is that she is proportioned very muscularly - with a thicker waist and those flat feet. As such, she feels more like a 'real' doll than a fashion doll and does stand out from the other Barbies.
